JSEC Scholarship Program
Purpose
Finger Lakes East JSEC is offering a $500 scholarship to each of three (3) high school students from Ontario, Seneca, Yates or Wayne County who plans to pursue full time, higher education leading to a degree in any area.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be accepted in an undergraduate program.
- Applicants must have a B average, 3.0 GPA or 85 average for at least three semesters, which will be verified by the official transcript.

Applicants must:
- Submit a business style resume:
- Name, address, telephone number, e-mail address
- College and college address you will be attending
- Major college studies
- High school activities
- Offices held in high school
- Outside activities
- Work and/or volunteer experience
- Submit an official transcript
- Submit an essay of 250 typed words. Choose from one of the following:
- What event(s) and/or person(s) in your life made you the person you are today?
- What has influenced your decision regarding your upcoming career and/or education choice?
- Submit three letters of reference; at least one must be from someone directly involved in your education.

Decision
- After the JSEC Scholarship Committee reviews the completed applications, it may be necessary to interview the finalists. Letter of the decision will notify the winner by May 17, 2010.
- The decision of the Scholarship Committee is final. An award will be presented only if qualified applications exist.
- Award will be presented to the winner upon successful completion of the first semester. Recipients of the award must maintain a 2.5 GPA their first semester.
- Scholarship winners and their parents are invited to join the JSEC Committee for lunch to celebrate your scholarship award on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, 11:30 am at the New York Wine & Culinary Center, 800 South Main Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
